From Joplin (90 minutes): Independence is right above Coffeyville on this map but they didn't write in the name of our town.

Turn right/north on west side of Joplin to Kansas State Line (last exit before toll road). You will go north briefly and then turn left/west on HWY 166 towards Baxter Springs, KS at a stop sign. Then Chetopa, Edna and Coffeyville.Follow 166 to 169 north at Coffeyville to Independence (The turn is right there where the 166 Hwy sign is on the map above). Turn west on HWY 160 to Independence (4 lane divided highway new construction just as you come to this junction). You are six miles from Independence at this west/left turn intersection.

When you come into town you will see a motel on your right after you cross the river. You will be about seven blocks from Park Blvd where you will want to turn north/right. (Park Blvd has a red brick house, a green dentist's office and PicNTote convenience store with gasoline pumps.) Turn north/right down Park Blvd to Locust. (At the bottom of the hill you will see a white with green church/Girl Scout Little House on the right side of Park Blvd. This is Locust.) Turn left in front of the red house. 416 E Locust is our home and is yellow with a big white bay window on the front and a flower bed beside the side walk. Do not park in the driveway. We will take you to your sleeping quarters from here. Welcome!

From Kansas City (3-4 hours):

Take the interstate down through Olathe. Get off at Beto Junction at Hwy 75 north of Emporia. Follow 75 through Burlington, Yates Center, and Neodesha (20 minutes to Independence). When you get to Independence you will see a natural stone fence on your left that surrounds the cemetery when you enter town. Go through this intersection and light. This will be a four lane Hwy 75. When you see Kentucky Fried Chicken get in the left turn lane. You will turn left on the south side of AUTOZONE. This is Locust Street. Go down Locust past the Assembly of God Church on the left for 2 more blocks. Slow down. Our house is on the north side. The numbers are not cleary marked. Our house is yellow with a big white bay window on the front. The number is 416 and is next to a big dark blue house. We have a flower bed beside the side walk. Do not park in the driveway. We will take you to your sleeping quarters from here. Welcome!

From Tulsa (2 hours):

If you have flown into the airport, you will need to exit at the first right exit heading (Hwy 11) west out of the airport. Go to the Bartlesville and Hwy 75 north/right exit. Divided four lane highway most of the way to Kansas border. You will go through Caney, KS which is 30 minutes from Independence. As you come into Independence you will see a John Deere dealership on the left. You will come to a stop sign at a "T" in the road. You will turn right/east into Independence about two miles. Follow Hwy 75 thorough town. You will pass Hardee's on your right. Be in the left turn lane across from the Medicine Shop. This is still on Hwy 75. Go one block! You will turn right on the south side of AUTOZONE. This is Locust Street. Go down Locust past the Assembly of God Church on the left for 2 more blocks. Slow down. Our house is on the north side. From Wichita (about 2 1/2 hours): (See map below, please)

Take Hwy 96 east to Fredonia and Neodesha. The corner is under construction so be careful. You want to turn south/right onto Hwy 75. This is about 15 minutes from Independence. When you get to Independence you will see a natural stone fence on your left that surrounds the cemetery when you enter town. Go through this intersection and light. This will be a four lane Hwy 75. To Neodesha, KS: (Sometimes we use this building for meetings)

Neodesha is 20 minutes north of Independence, KS on Hwy 75. Hwy 75 is under construction. Once you get to Neodesha we are at the Neodesha Housing Authority Building at 6th and Wisconsin. Hwy 400 is under construction! It stops at Parsons and there are detours all around Neodesha.
