Our Foals:

The Foals of Shalom Paso Fino Farm are foal imprinted at birth. We had done some of this naturally with our Apaloosa's down through the years. We have added more to the process after reading the book Imprint Training of the Newborn Foal by Robert Miller, DVM and watching his video Early Learning. Another video that has aided us is by Pat Parelli called A Natural Beginning.
We have found that imprint training has been an asset to this breeding program. All our foals are handled within the first two hours of birth, and then repeated sessions over the next several days. They can be haltered, you can pick up their feet, they allow leading as well as handling all over their bodies. We are able to worm without stress and the first farrier visits go very smoothly, I believe due in a great part to the imprint training.

Sorpresa de Shalom (registration pending) 2002 filly. Sorpresa is a tall filly - black with white on both front feet on cornet band. She is out of Santana del Cardo and Rainforest Zarabantista. She was named Surprise in Spanish because we were so surprised by a solid colored filly out of two very colorful pintos. |

We attended Savvy Days in Wichita and won a trip to Pat Parelli's International Study Center for the Horseman's Savvy Conference. The time spent learning his program and attending clinics given by his certified instructors has been well spent! Learning to play the Seven Games of Natural Horsemanship has led us in developing our horsemanship and we are so pleased with our foals! We know you will be, too. If you would like to see our horses playing these natural games, follow this link! Thank you!
