STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Arkansas Institute of Holy Land Studies

As adults return to college in record numbers, Arkansas Institute, with its prepackaged notes and illustrated teaching methods, is suited to meet their educational needs. Since 1986, Dr. Ron Moseley has traveled and studied under some of the best specialists in the Hebrew language, culture, history, and archaeology in both Jerusalem and America. These include Princeton, the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, the American Institute in Jerusalem, and the University of Texas. With the information obtained from these handpicked specialists, Dr. Moseley has brought back to the Arkansas Institute a curriculum that is second to none in the study of Jewish culture.

Although we appreciate all the work done by the basic Christian colleges in the areas of general Bible knowledge, faith, and theology, the Arkansas Institute has dedicated itself to becoming a specialty school in Middle Eastern history, offering degree programs in only this one field and using only the best scholarship.

Fortunately, because of modern techniques, the exact courses that are taught in class can also be offered on video for nonresident students. Thanks to our two-camera system, our new courses have both the instructor as well as the slides/transparencies in the same picture, making an excellent product for external education. In a recent article, the National Home Study Council reported that major research during the last fifty years has shown that home study students perform as well as, if not better than, resident trained students who studied the same subjects. We are happy to announce that all of our resident courses will be made available by home study, and that Arkansas Institute has been diligent both in finances and productivity to distinguish our nonresident program from the often encountered inferior and haphazard correspondence courses.

Arkansas Institute was founded for the purpose of providing diverse and alternative methods of achieving a collegiate education of the highest quality in our field. One of our major concerns is to help mature, working adults who otherwise would not have taken advantage of an educational opportunity due to life circumstances.

Second, our purpose is to create a system of college-level learning opportunities by organizing the best work of resident scholars and recognized nonresident professors into coherent degree strategies.

Third, our purpose is to make available educationally valid learning opportunities which serve as alternatives to and along with traditonal classroom study and testing, which are appropriate to the varied learning styles of adults.

Fourth, our purpose is to serve higher education and the public interest as a center of innovation, information, and availablility for the latest research on Judaism, early Christian history, and the land of Israel.

Fifth, our purpose is to conduct the affairs of Arkansas Institute in a manner which will glorify the Lord, garner respect from the public, and afford the dignity to its students that will assure them access to the next institution of higher education as they continue their educational process to its fullest.

Our Basic Statement of Faith
From the
Arkansas Institute Charter
The general purpose of the corporation shall be to conduct an institution of higher learning for the specific education in the field of Middle Eastern History relating to Israel and to all of its biblically related fields, giving special emphasis to the Christian faith as it was originally conceived as a part of Judaism in the first century A.D., refuting and denying all atheistic, agnostic, pagan, and neo-scientific alterations of the Scriptures. We affirm the teaching of the inspiration of the Bible (both Original and New Testament), the creation of man by the act of God, the incarnation and virgin birth of Jesus of Nazareth as the Jewish Messiah (Son of Man). We affirm His vicarious atonement for the sins of the world, by shedding of the Messiah's blood on the cross as the innocent for the unjust and the resurrection of His body from the tomb. We affirm the power of salvation from sin, based upon the individual's repentance and faith,
(total dependence) in God's grace (mercy and forgiveness),
through Jesus the Messiah
- the redemptive factor of God.

*Note: This charter shall never be amended, modified,
altered, or changed as to these provisions.
