Testimonies about Role of Women

Got this letter in the mail:
Shalom!
Would have just sent an e-mail but my computer has had a major breakdown (not even Y2K yet).:) I was soooo grateful though, that I took the time to write a special note of thanks!

My husband and I live in an area where women in ministry are frowned upon, and it is preached from 99% of our local pulpits-"women don't preach." I have been ministering in local nursing homes for many years, and I run into this attitude all too often--even in nursing homes around here.

My heart, soul, spirit--my ALL is ministry--proclaiming God's Word. My husband is my greatest supporter and encourages me, even goes with me on weekends when I teach. I usually just ignore the traditions of men, etc... that I have to contend with and just do what I'm called to do.

This week though, it just got too much for me to bear, and I went from discouragement to despair, spending a whole day in a "black hole," even asking myself, "Who do you think wants to listen to a woman anyway?" So what would you ever think happen? I received my mailing from you with the Restore magazine on women. When I read the list of articles on page 3 I was already feeling better. After reading about 3 of the articles, I climbed out of my "black hole" rejoicing once more that our God calls, anoints and uses women for His eternal purposes.

Thank you, thank you for this magazine. I know I will probably wear this issue out reading and re-reading.
Your article on Hospitality is just precious. This has been a difficult area for me (being kind of a loner). But the Lord dealt with me until we recently opened our home to stud and teach the word every week. So this is an area I needed help with. Your loving example has made a deep impression on my thinking, as I pray for God's grace to become more hospitable.

I just can't thank you enough, and I praise our Father who always picks me up when I' down--this time using a kind lady from Kansas. Baruch HaShem!
