WELCOME FROM THE STAFF
Arkansas Istitute of Holy Land Studies
SATELLITE SCHOOL

Shalom!

We want to thank you right up front for your interest in the Arkansas Institute for Holy Land Studies Satellite Program! We have received numerous requests from students who desire to bring the AIHLS classroom experience to those in their various home locations throughout the country. In an effort to accommodate those requests, we have put together a program that allows you to not only respond to the needs in your area, but to also be compensated for your willingness to oversee a satellite branch of the Institute!

Even though your satellite school should be tailored to meet the needs of your particular group of students, each location is considered an outreach arm of AIHLS here in Little Rock and, as such, must offer an educational experience equivalent to that of a resident student actually attending classes at AIHLS. We expect the operation and administration of each satellite school to be carried out in a professional manner, and we here at AIHLS will do all we can to support your efforts to run a successful and respected school.

As for marketing, you know the interest level in your area better than we do. Recruiting from family and friends is, of course, a great way to begin. Don't forget to announce the commencement of classes to your civic, social, and church groups. If you need catalogs or brochures to offer potential students, just let us know and we'll be glad to supply some for you. And please feel free to give out our AIHLS headquarters address and toll-free phone number (1-800-617-6205).

Courses are offered on a regular fall/spring semester basis, running approximately 14 weeks each semester. A regular load is considered to be five courses (15 credit hours) per semester. The actual scheduling of class times is dependent upon the needs of you and your students. Here at AIHLS headquarters, we offer two classes on Tuesday, one class on Wednesday, and two classes on Thursday. Your students, however, may prefer to attend three classes on Monday and two classes on Tuesday, or one class each week day. Whatever works for your group is acceptable as long as you allow 30-40 minutes for each class period.

AIHLS will send you one copy of the video-taped lectures, one copy of the student lecture notes, and one copy of the lecture note answer keys for each complete course before the beginning of each semester (you will be responsible for making photocopies of the lecture notes for your students). We will also provide a copy of the course review, test, and test answer key at the end of each semester for each course.

You will need to send AIHLS headquarters a copy of each student's completed application and the $25 Student Registration Fee within the first two weeks after each semester begins. The Video Use Royalty Fee is due no later than November 15 for the fall semester and no later than April 15 for the spring semester. When AIHLS receives the Video Use Royalty Fee, you will receive the review, test, and test answer key for each course (you will be responsible for making photocopies of the reviews and tests for your students). After you have graded the tests, you will need to send AIHLS headquarters a copy of each student's tests to be placed in their file. AIHLS will confer all degrees or certificates upon students completing the appropriate program according to each student's file held at AIHLS headquarters.

You will probably have some questions as you contemplate 'launching' your 'satellite'; do not hesitate to contact us, and we will do our best to meet your needs. Please be sure to read all the information at this site before you make your final decision to take on the responsibility of starting a school in your area. We are committed to help you succeed in this endeavor, and we ask the same of you. God has blessed AIHLS greatly, and we are expanding in both enrollment numbers and curriculum development. We will be honored if you choose to grow with us as we continue to teach others about the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ron Moseley
