The Gospel Research Foundation and Dr. Brad Young’s Third Annual Conference is scheduled early this year! It will be February 17-20, 2000 in Broken Arrow/Tulsa, OK. This year a teaching Biblical Passover Demonstration is scheduled at Oral Roberts University with Dr. Brad Young and Ann Thrasher assisting. If you have ever wondered about a first century Passover, then this event should be on your schedule! This meal will be done with props, costumes and a very insightful evening of teaching. Tapes will be made available. AND a special treat will be the Phoenix Israeli Cultural Dancers will be adding much to the evening services.

A special treat is in store for everyone on Sunday of this conference is the invitation to the Tulsa Reform Synagogue. Rabbi Charles Sherman will present Prayers of the Synagogue; Dr. John Swails will present The Holocaust in Christian Education; Connie Plumlee with present Teaching the Holocaust in Schools; and Cliff Michaels will present Testimony of a Holocaust Liberator.

This will be one of THE TOP scholastic conferences of the year, and will give you an opportunity to ask questions and meet the scholars. CBU conference information: March 3-5, 2000 will be Christian Believer’s United’s Annual Jewish Roots conference at Ridgecrest/Ashville, North Carolina. Dr. Brad Young and Dwight Pryor will be speaking and I have been asked to be a Seminar Leader speaking on The Didache. Other speakers are scheduled, but I haven’t received the brochure yet. Those who live on the East Coast will want to attend this conference if possible! I went three years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the teaching and fellowship. Recently Peggy and David Pryor of Fayetteville, Tennessee held a weekend seminar at their church. Dr. John Garr of Restoration Foundation and Marshall and Susanne Martz also came and spoke. There were approximately 60 people in attendance. Peggy and David serve on the advisory council of HaY’Did and called to tell me what a wonderful time of teaching and fellowship that they had. David and Peggy also pastor a church in the Joplin, MO area which is about 90 minutes from us. They will also be planning some teaching events there soon, and Tom and I will be in attendance, too.

SATURDAY January 29, 2000 we are planning a VERY SPECIAL event locally here in Independence, KS. We are having Ann Thasher of Tulsa, OK, and sister of Clarence Wagner of Bridges for Peace come to do a Biblical Passover Demonstration. Now this is a Saturday AFTERNOON from 2-6 pm. We’ve planned it that way so that people that live as far away as Kansas City, Joplin, Tulsa, OKC, or within a 4 hour driving area can attend, and return in one day’s time. Ann has done her homework in Israel and presents a First Century Passover Demonstration complete with scenery and costumes, and even the SOP! I’ve assisted Ann in this presentation, and I have seen lives changed! The first part of the presentation she teaches on the Egyptian Passover in a very unique way. There is no haggadah to read. Ann uses the props that she brings with her to walk you through that passover with new meaning and insight. You will walk through a door way coated with blood as they did in Egypt and you will see people around you in Bible time costume serving the meal. She talks about the lamb and how it was prepared, and about the plagues. The props and costumes set the mood, but your life will never be the same as she weaves the teaching around seeing the LORD JESUS in every aspect of that meal. Then we will serve you "the sop" with the unleavened bread (no silverware!) And a time of fellowship will be enjoyed by one and all.

After we have eaten, then Ann will again travel through time back to Jesus’ Supper around a triclenium style table. Where was Jesus seated? What did it mean to lean against Jesus’ chest? Where was Peter seated? And where might the crucifixion have taken place? What did that Centurion see that he declared, "Surely this is the Son of God!"

Our seating is limited to 200, and we will be advertising extensively locally to our own area. I will make a special offer: I need reservations by January 21, 2000 for those coming from out of town. Seats are $15 an adult and $12 for children in fifth grade and under until that date. After January 21, all seats will be $20 at the door. Groups of 10 or more that are fully paid by January 21, 1999 will receive one free ticket for that 21^st person or the organizer that has rounded up those other 10 people. Remember that all people in that group must be prepaid by that date to get the free ticket! Pastors in the area will want to get busy talking to their churches, and bible study groups will want to attend, too. Children do count in the count of 10, but ALL must be prepaid. We do accept most credit cards, and you have to call me at 1-316-331-7712 with that credit card information BEFORE JANUARY 21 to get the free ticket!

Kesher Course in West London: A new Kesher Course will be held in West Ealing London, commencing January 2000. The start date is Monday 10th January 2000 at 7:30pm.
