I've had several of you call and ask for more information on the videos that we sell from Focus on the Family. They have discontinued the Series with the overheads that we previously sold, but have repackaged the same powerful video lessons with cheaper prices. They no longer sell the overheads. But the advantage is that they were able to lower the prices considerably!  These Church Packs include the 5-7 video lessons [depends on which Series you order as to how many lessons are included], a Leader's Guide, and a new sample Participant's Workbook The price for each set is $80 + $8 per set shipping. There are 5 sets. If you order 4 or more sets at one time, we will pay the shipping.

NOTE: Set 4 has a lot of lessons that are perfect for Passover/Easter season!!!

Where might these be used: The lessons are about 20-30 minutes long, and the Leader's Guide expands the lesson from 1-3 hours. Our local Nazarene Church used the videos for their adult Sunday School Class. It totally added to their knowledge. Our local high school art teacher is the sponsor for the high school Young Christian organization, and she has used them there. They could also be used in a Bible Study group, or even for Vacation Bible School. One church ordered them so they could prepare for a trip to Israel. Each lesson is independent of the others, so you could pull them out individually. Great for Sunday night or Wednesday night church, too. Currently we are using this series at ORU with our undergrad students for Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey. The students love them! The Participant's Workbook is great for the student's to use in discussion groups and to make notes in about their spiritual growth.

So, with that explanation, let me show you what is in each set:  

Set 1: ($80 for 5 lessons with 2 videos, Leader's Guide, and a sample Participant's Workbook in a plastic case)
Lesson 1: "Standing at the Crossroads"--Located at the junction of ancient world empires, Tel Gezer illustrates God's desire for us to impact our culture rather than hide from it. Teaching on Gates of a city, and on a tel.  
Lesson 2: "Wet Feet"--Crossing the Jordan River required an act of faith, showing how God calls us to be people willing to step out in total commitment to HIM.  
Lesson 3: "First Fruits" --As Jericho was set apart from the rest of the land, belonging to God and acknowledging His ownership, Christians are to recognize God's claim on our possessions, talents and gifts--as His "First Fruits."  
Lesson 4: "Confronting Evil"--The Shephelah (foothills) were the dividing line between God's people and the pagan Philistines, a reminder that we need to be distinct from our culture to effectively confront it.  
Lesson 5: "Iron of Culture"--God enabled David to use the Philistine's iron-making expertise to the Israelites' advantage, pointing out how we, as Christians, are called to use leading-edge technology to positively shape our culture.

Lesson 6: "Innocent Blood"--Parallels abound between the idol worship and child sacrifice at Tel Megiddo and the destruction of innocent lives in today's society. (This one really impacted my grandchildren when they saw it.)  
Lesson 7: "Who is God"--Elijah, on Mt. Carmel, demonstrated who God really is to the world and to the prophets of Baal.
Lesson 8: "Wages of Sin"---The Assyrian siege and destruction of Lachish show's God's attitude toward the sin of a culture paralleling our own.  
Lesson 9: "The Lord in My Shepherd" --Rediscover the analogy of God as a shepherd--largely lost to western culture--through the spiritual lessons of the Bedouins in the Negev.  
Lesson 10: "God with Us" --Once God lived in the Holy of Holies of a temple very similar to the one in Arad, but now He lives in people like us.
